Simplified and abstract illustrations of solutions conceptualized, developed, and implemented are highlightedon the cover page of the magazine and below. Figure 1 shows the integrated use of standard-based ehealth-components (EPR, DSS, telemedicine) in the local care delivery, Figure 2 the current or future (mid-term) applications and services offered at the point of care in the pilot centers or through the virtual environment in Germany (Koegni-eHealth) and Figure 3 the infrastructural environment of the Koegni-eHealth initiative platform.
It is worth mentioning that solutions were developed according to international standards and current best practice guidelines with particular focus on the security, safety, confidentiality and ethical considerations in line with local laws, regulations or policies.
